LADIES QUILLED SCISSORS CASE!
QSCS101......These quilled scissors cases were ordered to fit a small pair of "stork" embroidery scissors and measures approx. 5 inches long. The one on
the left is unsmoked brain tan and is trimmed with size 12 translucent blue seed beads in a
lacy picot edging. The bottom is trimmed with three brass hawk bells. The one on the right is basically the same
except that it is done on a smoked braintan leather and the beaded edge is opaque blue seed beads. They are made to tie onto a sash or
pocket tie but could be hung around the neck on a thong if desired. The design is a composite of a couple of different old Iroquois line quilling patterns. I will be adding some other designs of scissors
cases soon.
QUILLED LEGTIES
Leg ties are approx. 10 inches long total length (unless otherwise stated) and are backed with wool, osnaberg, or ticking.
Leg ties are sold in pairs. Check back often as more designs will be added later. Bead edging is
standard, if you want a different type edging please contact us. Please state choice of color. The average cost for line stitch designs on smoked braintan is $ 85.00 a pair. If you want the 6 deer hair
drops, three on each tie, add $ 5.00.
QLGT401.....A recent customer asked for a set of quilled legties in a Wyandot/Huron pattern. It is often difficult to attribute a particular pattern to a particular tribal affiliation as many of them are similar etc, but I did find a quilled strap on an original Huron pouch and this quilled leg tie was inspired by that strap pattern. It also could be used for Iroquois as I found several items with similar designs. This leg tie pattern (one of a set of two) was quilled in light blues and reds on dark dyed braintan with glass bead edging. They measure approx. 10 inches long.Price as shown: $ 85.00 plus shipping.
QLGT402.....This legtie photo shows a quilled Ojibwa Ottertail Design done in single quill line stitch.
This pair has 3 hand rolled brass cone/dyed deer hair drops on each leg tie. Measures approx. 12" long. These quilled hairsticks come in various color combinations and different dangles. The bottom can be cone/deerhair or feather tips. Or a combination of both. Wampum strings can be added and a rosette at the top etc. and additional pictures will be added often. These are wrapped on rawhide slats and have a braintan tie thong at the top.
